Soul
Psalms 41: 4
I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
Here we have a healings, not of the body, but of the soul.It comes with an expression of need.
In this case the soul is sick, it has sinned against God.You might say how can my soul sin:
Leviticus 26: 15
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor [despise, scorn] my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
`I said, be merciful unto me, heal my soul, bring it back to health.
There is nothing more sickening, then to realize, that you are out of the will of God, or have sinned.
Sometimes it is just some small thing, but when it happens you will know.
And at this time it had better be rectified.
If not, it will fester, and become a big sin, which can damn your soul.
Just like zit on your face, if you leave it alone it will go away, but if you keep picking at it or bringing it up, it will fester.
Forget the sin, wash it in the blood of Jesus and go about you life.
Luke 13:21
It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
this is speaking of the Kingdom of God, but the ideas the same
3John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
John here links prosperity & sin together.
Heal my soul Lord, so it can prosper, and then I will prosper, as my soul prospereth.
Because a prospereth soul, is a sinless soul.
In my thesaurus.
The words for soul, is as follows, ego, id, individuality, mind, persona, personality, psyche, self, spirit.
But we know that the spirit and soul are not the same.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper then any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of
the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The soul and spirit are no more the same, then joints and marrow are the same.
But the soul of man, or the real you the part that set your personality, the self, in yourself, this can reject God.
Leviticus 26:15
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor [despise, scorn] my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments,
but that ye break my covenant:We have to fight all the time, the spirit is ready the flesh is weak
The spirit, giving by God, we sometimes call conscience, is always trying to return you to him.
The body [flesh] belongs to the earth, and is always trying to return to earth.
Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. [breath/spirit]
Ecclesiastes 12: 7
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
The word spirit here is not capitalize, so it means a thing, not the Holy Spirit.
Also this word spirit is translated breath.
God breathed into man, the breath/spirit of life, and man became a living soul.
At birth when you take that first breath, the spirit from God enters, and you become a living soul.
It takes the breath of God, or the spirit of God, to give life to these old bodies.
Predestination:
Spirit to God, dust to dust.
This will happen, but the soul is up to you.
This body will never see heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:50
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
It is an earthly vehicle made to carry the soul of man, through a learning process.
God through the spirit trying to draw your soul towards heaven.
The body though earthly things trying to draw your soul to damnation.
It is hard to realize that some are so easy lead, that dirt can lead them to hell.
We clothe the flesh, wash it, feed it, pamper it, but we neglect the spirit and soul. I am not saying to neglect it, {the flesh} but remember
it goes to Hell no matter what; {into the ground} they {the spirit/soul} go to Heaven; if you are saved, otherwise the soul
will go to Hell, so put each in proper perspective.
Just as Moses Died, and was buried, also Abraham, Isaac, were dead and buried, yet God said he was a God of them,
speaking as if he talk to them, face to face, yet they lay a moldering in the ground.
Also Moses was seen on the mount of transfiguration, but he was buried by God.
Their bodies are in the ground, but their souls and spirits are in the presence of God.
As I said, the body will return to the earth, but don’t let your soul go to Hell.
Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Just as God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, are one, though they are three.
We, that is man, are also one, spirit, soul, body.
If you want your soul or the real you, to end up in heaven where you will be soul, spirit and bride,
you must crucify this old man every day.
Crucifying the flesh, doesn’t mean you have to cut yourself, or beat yourself.
It means you have to give up some of the dirt/earth in you, and replace it with spirit in you, then you go where Jesus is.
The soul of man never dies; it will be in Hell or Heaven forever, up to you.
Psalm 23:3
He restoreth my soul:
Psalms 41:4
I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
Live the life that will take your soul to Heaven
